Artists Tracy Taylor and Barry Goyette exhibit new work inspired by the most American of celebrations: The County Fair.
Bumper cars, Blue Ribbons and Corn Dogs. Water Colorist Tracy Taylor loves the fair. She loves the food, the people, the future farmers of america. Her delight would be to capture a small portion of the essence of this American ritual. Perhaps a first kiss on the ferris wheel.
Photographer Barry Goyette's Carnival Time, is an intimate portrait of the nomadic laborers who work the amusement rides and games at county fairs throughout the country. Many of these workers come from the absolute fringes of American society, and struggle with a high level of social isolation and discrimination, often from the same people whose children ride the rides that the Carnies assemble, run and maintain.
