I am very fortunate to have been working full time as an artist since moving to San Luis Obispo in 1985.

In my life, I have owned and operated a sandal shop in Hollywood and worked as a flight instructor, giving flying lessons in the L.A. area. I have also worked in film, as a model-maker creating sets for special visual effects cinematography. "Star Wars" and "Caddy Shack" are among my screen credits.

My childhood was spent in Los Angeles, where I received an elementary education in parochial school. I preferred to drop out of high school, and I went to work as an apprentice auto upholsterer and later I worked in a sweat shop, metal plating. Six months later on my seventeenth birthday I joined the Navy. It was at that time, while serving in Guantanamo that I began to study art. Upon leaving the Navy, I made a pilgrimage to Europe to visit the art museums.. Upon returning to the U.S., I enrolled at San Bernardino Valley College where I studied painting with Hilda Mohle I earned an AA degree and then, again I left school preferring to explore my own peculiar creative processes.

With my art, I do whatever pleases me. I do not follow trends. I indulge myself with various subject matter. I pillage art history and steal whatever is of interest to me. Although, I enjoy making sculpture, most of my time is spent painting.
